FAQs
Strata questions
What committees and building managers ask us.
Who is responsible for electrics in a strata building?
Generally, the body corporate maintains wiring and equipment on common property, and each owner maintains the electrics inside their lot. Your community management statement and by-laws set out the detail.
Can you provide more than one option in a quote?
Yes. We usually give committees a recommended option and alternatives, with the price and benefit of each, so the decision is straightforward.
How do you handle power-offs?
We give residents written notice, schedule power-offs at the least disruptive time and keep them as short as possible. Lifts, gates and pumps are planned around.
Can our building support EV charging?
Most buildings can support some charging with load management. We assess the supply capacity and give you a staged plan, from a few shared chargers to individual metered chargers.
Do you do smoke alarms inside individual units?
Yes, for owners and landlords. Smoke alarms inside each lot are the owner's responsibility under Queensland's smoke alarm rules, while common areas fall under separate fire safety requirements.
Do you offer after-hours call-outs for buildings?
Yes. Our 24/7 line is answered by an electrician, and buildings on a maintenance contract get priority on the after-hours roster.
