Electrical thermal imaging on the Gold Coast
Loose connections, overloaded circuits and failing breakers get hot long before they fail. A thermal imaging scan of your switchboards under normal load finds those hot spots without shutting anything down, and gives you a report with images, temperatures and priorities so repairs can be planned instead of rushed.

Thermal imaging is a preventive check. These are the situations where it pays for itself.
What's included in a thermal imaging scan
Scans are carried out by a licensed electrician who knows what the images mean, not just how to take them.
Switchboard and distribution scans
Main and distribution boards scanned with the covers safely removed, under normal operating load.
Connections and equipment
Isolators, busbars, contactors, motor controls, solar connections and other high-load points checked.
Prioritised findings
Each hot spot rated by temperature rise and urgency, so you know what to fix now and what to monitor.
Written report
Thermal and normal images side by side, readings, locations and fixed prices for the repairs we recommend.

How a thermal scan works
01
Book at normal load
We book when the site is running normally, because faults only show up under load.
02
Scan and record
Boards and equipment are scanned and photographed, with readings taken at every hot spot.
03
Report within 48 hours
You receive a report with images, readings and a priority rating for each finding.
04
Fix and confirm
We quote fixed prices for any repairs and re-scan afterwards if you want confirmation.
Standards and compliance
Scans are carried out by A-grade licensed electricians using calibrated thermal cameras, working safely on live switchboards under the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 and the Electrical Safety Code of Practice for managing electrical risks. Repairs are made to AS/NZS 3000 (the Wiring Rules), and reports are formatted for insurers and facility managers.

FAQs
Thermal imaging questions
What owners and facility managers ask us about thermal scans.
What does thermal imaging find?
Loose or corroded connections, overloaded circuits, failing breakers and unbalanced loads. They all show up as hot spots before they fail.
Do you need to shut the power off?
No. Scans have to be done under normal load, so the site keeps running. We only remove covers where it is safe to do so.
How often should switchboards be scanned?
Most insurers ask for an annual scan on commercial sites. Busy sites with heavy loads, cool rooms or servers often scan every six months.
Is thermal imaging useful for homes?
Yes, particularly for older switchboards, homes with solar and batteries, and acreage with sheds and pumps. It is also a useful check before buying a property.
Can you fix what the scan finds?
Yes. Each finding comes with a fixed price for the repair, and we can re-scan afterwards to check the connection is running cool.
Who carries out the scan?
A licensed electrician from our commercial team, so the person reading the images understands the equipment and can explain what each finding means.
