Workmanship warranty
Our warranty
Every job Volt One Electrical carries out comes with a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date the work is completed. If our workmanship fails in that time, we come back and fix it free of charge, including the call-out and labour.
This warranty is given by Volt One Electrical Pty Ltd and is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Manufacturer warranties
Products we supply and install, such as switchgear, LED lights, smoke alarms, EV chargers and batteries, carry their manufacturer's own warranty, which is often longer than 12 months. We pass these warranties through to you and register products where the manufacturer requires it.
If a product we supplied fails within our 12-month workmanship period, we handle the claim with the supplier for you. After that, we can still help you lodge the claim with the manufacturer.
What is covered
Faults caused by the way we installed, connected or terminated cabling and equipment
Loose connections, incorrect wiring or failed terminations in work we carried out
Fittings, accessories and switchgear we installed that fail because of our installation
Making good any minor damage caused by a warranty repair
What is not covered
Products supplied by you or by others, and existing wiring we did not install
Damage from storms, lightning, power surges, flooding, pests or accidents
Normal wear, and consumables such as replaceable globes and batteries
Work that has been altered or repaired by someone else after we finished
Faults caused by misuse, overloading or equipment used outside its instructions
If a problem turns out not to be covered, we explain why and give you a fixed price to fix it before we do any work.
How to claim
Call 07 5550 1420 or email voltone@vectorr.com.au with your name, the job address and a short description of the problem. Photos help, and so does your invoice or certificate number if you have it.
We will book a time to inspect, usually within two business days. If the fault is covered, we fix it at no cost to you, and we cover our own costs of attending a valid claim.
If the fault is dangerous, such as sparking, a burning smell or a hot switchboard, turn the power off at the main switch if it is safe to do so and call our emergency line, which is answered 24/7.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.
If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
