Privacy policy
Who we are
This privacy policy explains how Volt One Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN 37 641 205 918) collects, uses and protects your personal information. We are a licensed electrical contractor based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, and we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect the information we need to quote, book and complete your job. This usually includes your name, phone number, email address and the address of the property we are working on.
We may also collect details about the job, photos you send us, access instructions, payment records and notes from our electricians. When you visit our website, we collect basic technical information such as your browser type, the pages you view and your approximate location.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, schedule and complete work, issue certificates of testing and safety, send invoices and receipts, and handle warranty claims. With your consent, we may also send occasional updates about safety changes such as Queensland smoke alarm laws. You can opt out at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only when we need to do the job or meet the law: with the Electrical Safety Office and your energy distributor when work must be notified, with suppliers and manufacturers for warranty claims, with our accounting, booking and payment providers, and with your property manager or landlord where they arranged the work.
Storage and security
Your information is kept in secure, password-protected business systems run by reputable providers, some of which may store data outside Australia. Only staff who need your details to do their job can see them. We keep job records for at least seven years to meet tax and electrical compliance obligations, then delete or de-identify them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not happy with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
